Not correct in what manner? Do you mean you need to send with a From of
your correct ISP mail ID? For news? Look at my address in this post.
Naught to do with SMTP though.
I just say that posting with a newsreader did not need the use of the
ISP SMTP server, because if this was the case i will not be able to post
with an invalid mail adress.
