then creating a new one for wmv I can now open
wmv's in IE8 using mplayerC.
MplayerC is a great little viewer, about 1/100 the
size of Wmp9 and works just as well but without
the glitz. There are no settings for preferred apps.
Irfan has preferred settings and I tried that previously.
It does not make any difference.
It appears that SM is coded to use Windows Media Player
and cannot be changed. I will have to use IE8 for wmv's.
A pain in the neck.
