I have Ebase 1.03 and I am trying to >find out how many members in a certain time period ex. 1.1.2001 - 12.31.2001 >have renewed with us. If one assumes that a renewal is a payment coded as Dues and with the field Member type as renewal, you would find (in the payments file) payments with a post date within your range of interest AND Payment For = Dues AND member type = renewal. That will give you the renewal payments within your date range.
