Exporting and importing won't help as you have lost the association between
the names and the payments. When you import you won't know how to connect
the payments with the names. This independent of whether you import into
ebase or any other database.

There is no substitute for backups that are frequent enough that you can
aford to reenter all data since the last backup. For some people this is
hourly, for others it is monthly. Your data is the family jewels. If you
don't protect the data, you may as well not spend resources updating it.
