When I mentioned that I use DOS for Internet access with Net-Tamer, some of
those at my ISP seemed to recall hearing about it. They seemed impressed
with the idea, although uninformed of the particulars.

When I connected to my ISP with Linux, I got an e-mail from the assistant
manager of my ISP's outside company (I forget their name and business
relationship, exactly) who *welcomed* me to the Linux community; he runs
Linux on his personal machine, but their company uses a certain commercial
form of UNIX. He also said that I wouldn't get much support from the local
ISP folks with Linux (about 95% of their support is for Windows), but that I
could get in contact with the local Linux Users' Community for help, if
necessary.

What matters to me is that my ISP allows me to connect to the Internet
through them with just about any OS -- I can take care of the rest. :)
