G'day Stephen,

Actually, one of the reasons I chose my current ISP was because I could
use any operating system I wanted. They didn't force me to use Windows.
However, they did say that if I used DOS I was basically on my own for
software tech support. But their configuration page was good enough for
me because I'm an ex-BBS user; accustomed to tweaking my comms software.
Nowadays I'm bothering their tech support for help in configuring Linux
programs for the Net... :)

My first response to these twits is:
"Your message may have been interesting; but because you chose to use a
proprietary message and/or attachment format it arrived on my end as
unreadable garbage. Therefore, my email program has automatically
deleted your message and has sent this automated reply.
"Support the continued existence of an open, accessible, and
non-proprietary Internet by using ordinary text and/or standard
attachments in your subsequent messages. Note that this message is in
ordinary text which is readable by anyone.
"Your right to use your choice and configuration of email software is
respected. My right to use something different should also be
respected."
If they persist, I treat their messages as spam.
