If you specify the font with typeface nbr 4101 and it is not
there, the printer will select the font with typeface nbr 5
(4096+5=4101), and vice versa. This has to do with the backward
compatibility rules of most PCL printers.

So your tests do not guarantee that any download fonts have been
used.

Either get the technical manual for the Deskjet 870, or find a
converter from Laserjet font format to the Deskjet 500 font
format, as I suggested in my first posting on this subject.
