In c:\msdos.sys my bootgui=0, and logo=0, but I've still got three
questions.
1) My Win infected PC is the company's laptop. They said it's OK to set
it up for a pure DOS boot if I can. The above works for boot, but as
it's a laptop, power management or something turns the computer off when
exiting from the Windows 95 program. Anyone know a way to avoid this?
2) Didn't Win 3.x allow us to call Windows to run a certain program, and
then exit to DOS when that ap was finished? Can it be dome with 95?
3) I'm quite determined to use "winmodems" (sic) without loading the
GUI. In this case, a PCMCIA (PCIC) card is involved, also. I think this
bus is 32bits wide, requires PnP type post codes, etc.. If needed, I'll
find (or if necessary, write) a 32 bit I/O service for DOS. I've not
dealt with protected mode before, so any input will be appreciated, on
or off list. I will get this done. Even if I need a Y2.3K fix by then.
;)
