I'll answer on the topics I know.

In Laptops and ATX computers, the computer automaticly shuts down
when Windows exit. There is only one option for this, and its to
try and find a setting in the BIOS that should disable this option.
In ATX boards, sometimes its a jumper, if not in the BIOS.

Once you manage to exit Windows without getting it to shut-down the
computer, and if bootgui=0, a simple "mode co80" command will clear
the video to reveal the DOS prompt on the screen. You can set this
to work automaticly using a batch-file, that will run Windows and
later run mode co80 as the command after the "call WIN.COM".

hm.. didnt knew that one about Win3.x, though if you setup the
win.ini to use another program instead of progman.exe or explorer.exe,
Windows will run it automaticly and shutdown once you exit that
program. It should work for both Windows, but it would be
1)too complex each time you want another program
2)Not usefull on Windows 95 as it takes too long to load each time.

Also, most installed for 95 and 3.11 that I had while using another
program manager but progman and explorer, complained when they couldnt
find progman and explorer running.
