I think I'm missing some messages. Oh dear. It might have been
missplaced. I'll check later.

I also have a T1000 machine, but it has since died. :(
I think it was a 286 with 512k RAM, DD floppy, 700k ROM (C:)
Monochrome LCD (CGA). One good thing was the composite video out, so
I could hook it up to a TV (wow it was even PAL, working on my old
VCR). Then it wouldn't start at all, and fooling around the inside to
"fix" it, I acceldentaly pulled out a white thing marked F1. It
hasn't worked since.

The battery is internal; ie not supposed to be removed. But my video
camera battery has a little switch, and its just an indicator for
*you*. It has no other function, and either position does the same
thing; just to let you know if its charged or not.

BTW, changing the topic slightly (attn Bernie), this Compaq Aero
battery, I asked at a battery shop if they are able to rejuventate
it, and they said probably not, (new batteries cost $AU200), but they
could stick it on the optimiser to see if it would work. The
rejuvenation would then cost $15. Same cost at a hardware store, but
they would have to send it away...

If it all didn't work, the battery shop suggested buying a SLA
battery and hooking it into the battery terminals. But thats still
50-100 dollars. :(
