I have never tried v. 3 what's the diffrence? I've been to their site
several times and it always said that v. 3 required win95 (it said 3.1 now
so I'll bet it'll work with 3.11 as well). Actually I wonder why software
companys specify Windows95 and 98 and just say DOS. Wouldn't it be more
natural to list *all* the DOS versions (rather lengthy list) that work or
only list one of each "OS"?

Help? Who reads that (as long as things work)? I read the help in ex.
Basic, Pascal and C and that's it <G>. Just copy the winsock.dll file to
either the windows directory or the system directory and it'll work (not
that I've ever tried putting it in the system dir but it usually works for
other DLL files).
But I didn't have WinSock.Dll there to start with when I ran the
installation program (it came along with Netscape 1.2 on a floppy from my
first ISP).

That's the only information that Trumpet requires as well (+ com/"slip" port)
I haven't been able to get Arachne online (but a program that I download
the last time I complained on the arachne list didn't find Com2 (I've even
tried to move the modem to Com1 and run without mouse) - but another did so
I'm once again lost on what to do).

But they'll need to give out the same information. "Automatic installation"
don't work in any Windows 9x version (or NT) - atleast not for anyone that
I know. (I have already complained about this in other posts so I'll stop now).
