Sorry no, the only one I know that has used it has switched to Corel Linux
instead. (He switched this monday IIRC so I don't have any specifics).

I like Slackware best myself, it uses much less resources than Red Hat. But
the basics for getting a Linux system fast is probably to not install
useless things (all the diffrent servers for instance if you don't use them).
Try and only install the things you *know* you need. Next try and do
everything you want to do, and then reinstall from scratch when you notice
the things you forgot ;-)

And closing down X when not using it will also increase your speed.
