Hmm... I don't really know how to do this... thought startx launches the
X daemon, but it already starts the window manager too..
In fact I don't use a bloated desktop, I tried Enlightenment (with GNOME)
once and KDE, and then 'my machine gets into trouble'... and with that I
mean
it starts trashing and for example you've got to wait 10-15 secs till the
drop
down menu you clicked appears.... then still 10 secs till highlighted menu
item
succeeds to follow your mouse.. you know what i mean ?  Anyway I don't like
KDE,
and GNOME is fine if you've got the appropriate machine.. I use XFCE3, and
that's
pretty fast and certainly not bloated...

Yep.. already did that some time ago, have a Netscape 3.04.. and sometimes I
use lynx.
