Dear Yolanda,
Well, as a suggestion, perhaps the modem needs to be put into
"Answer" mode. Most modems that I have seen, default to
"Originate" mode when turned on. The only reference on modem
command codes that I have in reach at the moment is a little
pocket reference book, and it lists "AT A" as being the command
to force the modem to answer.
Perhaps the modem hasn't recognized that the phone has been
picked up?
