I seriously don't think that method will work with this software. This is
software which sits connected to the modem at all times and if something
else accesses the modem it has a hissy fit and pops up complaint
windows. I believe it sends the init command itself when it starts up and
the init command has to be sent with it, and it uses the modem software to
set up that string. I have to find the place where THAT string is sent and
put it in there. I've tried to add it via the registry also now without
success, I've also looked for all .ini files related, next I will be
looking for any .inf files and I might do a comprehensive search throughout
all files for the modem string. That will take awhile so it's waiting till
I have a day off to work.

Inertia. It's not just an object at rest tends to stay at rest; it's
also an object in motion tends to stay in motion.
