HyperTerminal should do. Open up the HyperTerminal group (with the various
icons and the 'Hypertrm' icon), start Hypertrm, give the New Connection a
name (and pick an icon if you want), hit 'OK', and change the 'Connect
Using' option to 'Direct to Com3'. Hit OK again, and you should be
connected to your modem.
Type 'AT' and hit Enter - if you see 'OK', the connection is working. You
should then be able to type 'AT#CID=1&W0&Y0' and hit Enter - if you get 'OK'
back, the modem should be set up as described earlier. You can now
disconnect and close HyperTerminal (you can just close it down and say 'Yes'
when prompted to disconnect).
