Nope.
Software can be serialized (most of the MS stuff is...), but that's
all the website needs to lock out a second installation.

Your computer's BIOS DOES NOT contain a serial number. (It could
be done, but what sort of idiot would buy a computer with a "carved
in stone" unerasable web cookie like that? They could track you all
over the net. Last year, Intel announced that they would succumb
to yet another of Microsoft's monoploy tactics, by inserting a
serial number in their latest chips. They were astounded with the
flood of "Not no, but HELL NO!" mail received against the proposal,
and backed down. It actually boosted AMD's stock while Intel's
dropped in price!)

Even Bill Gates will respond to consumer rebellion. It just hasn't
happened yet... but even the windoze point and click dorks are
learning these days, and his sneaky attempts to wrest control of
your computer and software MUST eventually backfire on him...

BTW - I've been collecting the "TEN BEST" list of survpc myths
(e.g. - "You're 12 MHz 286 AT can't possibly work with a 56k modem")
- and I think I'll add this one to the incomplete list: "They can
track you via your computer BIOS serial number".
