I've just uploaded a new add-on for BasicLinux. It's an FTP server (a perfect match for the built-in FTP client). It takes around 110kb of space and needs no configuration. The only fishhook is that the server only accepts logins to passworded accounts -- no anonymous logins, no logins to accounts with null passwords. The default BasicLinux has null passwords, so before you can login to the FTP server, you need to set a password (this is a good idea anyway). Execute 'passwd' to set a password. This is included in the HD version of BasicLinux. For the ramdisk version of BasicLinux, you can download the "Set Login Password" add-on from the BasicLinux site. ----------------------------------------------- http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~ichi/baslinux.html -----------------------------------------------
This is the last BasicLinux announcement I am sending to this list. From now on, I will be directing BasicLinux traffic to the LifeRaft list. If you wish to keep up with what is happening in BasicLinux, I suggest you subscribe to the LifeRaft list.
