I have just produced a special installation routine for
Slackware 8.1 that works with 4mb RAM. It gives you a
functional installation that occupies just 26mb of HD
space. You can then install any Slackware 8.1 package
using pkgtool (Slackware's menu-driven package manager).

Slackware 8.1 is the current version. It includes all the
up-to-date features which BasicLinux and Slackware 3.5 lack.
Although Slackware 8.1 will not perform as spritely on old
hardware as BasicLinux, it does offer considerably more
security and functionality.

I have just uploaded it to:
---------------------------------------------
http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~ichi/slack81.zip
---------------------------------------------
The size is 1.1mb. You will also need to download 10mb
of packages from Slackware 8.1 (the package names are
listed in slack81.zip).

Let me know if there are any problems.

Cheers,
Steven
