Yes! Bonnie that was exactly the kind of information I was looking for. I 
have some basics for defining cards in my xml files. Eckhard has a very 
elegant way of expressing turning sequences in his. You brought up some 
other things in your list that I hadn't thought much about, in particular, 
the characteristics of the yarns (I don't think any of the tabletweaving 
programs out there so far use this information yet) and separating the 
orientation information from the threading.

I'll go through my back issues of Twist and look for the summary you 
mentioned. I'm assuming that the format should allow you to import pieces 
from other files - for example, you might have one file that includes a 
variety of standard threadings, and rather than having to enter them 
separately for each design, you could just import the threading you want 
from other files in your "library". Ditto for turning sequences or any 
other sections.
