I'm sympathetic to your plight Guido. In my case I find it refreshing to
turn to my looms (that is, those that I use for regular interlaced fabrics)
from time to time and immerse myself in a new exploration there. In fact
it's been almost two years since I've done any tablet weaving at all. I
sort-of burned out during the time I was exploring 6-holed tablet weaving
in preparation for teaching the class in Cincinnati, by weaving or working
on designs and research about 8-10 hours a day, every day, for about 2
years. I am also discouraged by the comparative lack of interest -- even
the fact that this list seems to lack a sufficient critical mass to keep a
discussion going. The class on 6-holed TW barely had sufficient enrollment
to be offered, and those who attended seem to not have followed up by
undertaking actual projects -- at least to my knowledge.

I don't know about floating brocading, but, if you'll allow me to knit-pick
on terminology here, the technique comparable to "double-faced 3/1 twill"
on 4-holed tablets would be called "double-faced 5/1 twill" if woven on
6-holed tablets. And there are two sub-categories of the technique, one
with steep oblique colour-change and the other much flatter. Other 4-hole
techniques (eg. Egyptian diagonals and Snartemo) similarly branch into 2 or
more variations when factored up to 6 holes. Altogether a quite remarkable
study, I found, and one which I had hoped would generate more
interest. I'd be happy to attempt to answer any questions you (or anyone)
has about 6-holed tablet weaving -- if anyone has a question I can't answer
that would be just the thing to re-inspire me :'D
