Perhaps what needs to be done is foment a boycot of eircode, or at
least of the 7-char version which is, with all due respect, mad (or
devious, your call). Irish people seem to be quite good at boycoting
official policies after the fact :p I certainly don't intend to help
the adoption of eircode. But I'm an engineer, with a bias towards
freedom, privacy, etc. Getting the general public to understand/care
will be much harder.
