I'm with moltonel here

I personally will not be supporting eircode nor will I partake in any
initiative to add it to OSM. I do not accept the proposed design as being
anywhere near suited to a catering for a national coding system when there
are already much superior solutions designed and working this past few
years. eircode is merely a random identifier for rows of address data in a
database

I will be more than happy to see and support the addition of both superior
location codes Openpostcode or Loc8. I have emailed Loc8 to see what their
stance might be re. adding to OSM data
