Hello Havivah D. Schwartz,

SH>> Yes, because without those enable, I must open the address book
SH>> first before the ABTemplate working.

HDS> I'm not sure I follow you. As far as I can tell, automatic
HDS> contact-specific templates don't work *at all* if you don't have
HDS> "use specific template..." checked. That is to say: if I have a
HDS> contact with a template but I do *not* check "use specific
HDS> template...", then that template will *never* show up -- it won't
HDS> matter whether I select the addressee and then create New Mail, or
HDS> whether I create New Mail and then select my addressee. Whereas the
HDS> problem I have is that the templates work if I select the addressee
HDS> first, but not second.

Weird, my AB Template always work if I start F8 (going to Address Book)
then select address to make new message (no matter "use specific
template..." checked or not). It work from every node in my LAN,
whatever O/S I use (I put Address Book on Network Drive).

SH>> Oh yes, another things, you must set the AB which content the
SH>> template as "default address book".

HDS> Is that true? I mean, I have only one AB, and it is my default
HDS> (just made sure), but during one of my efforts to see if I could
HDS> figure out what was happening, I created a dummy address with a
HDS> dummy template in one of the ABs that came with the program
HDS> (Bigfoot). The template worked just like the templates in my
HDS> default AB.

You right, I just test it myself.

SH>> That's what I do here, or compose new message then select address book.

HDS> *grin* it's that elusive second option ("compose new message then
HDS> select address book") that I just can't get working for me

Oh, I run out of idea, perhaps someone else can help.

HDS>>> The *only* time I can't get the automatic templates to work is if I
HDS>>> open the Mail Message Editing window *first* and *then* choose my
HDS>>> addressee.

SH>> Aha... for that case, I can confirm.

HDS> I'm sorry, I don't understand: confirm what?

Create new message, write something on body text editor then choose To:
address...the AB Template not work.
