My thoughts as well and why I once expressed surprise here that the "empty" command was not specifically aimed at trash and focused on no other folder. It will happen again when people are tired and not paying attention. There should be a specific "Empty Trash" to avoid this type of problem. Why would anyone want to empty their inbox? The program should not be set up for such human error.
