If they are a 'serious' Internet provider they shouldn't like the idea of having one of their SMPT servers blacklisted as being used to send SPAM. > Offer to change my IP to another, with no guarantee that it won't > have similar problems? There is no problem with your IP address, doesn't need to be changed. It is the IP address of their "imf18aec.mail.bellsouth.net" host that is blacklisted. >> The IP is for one of Bellsouth's servers. If you go to www.dnsstuff.com >> and do a Reverse DNS Lookup you will see it is the IP address for >> imf18aec.mail.bellsouth.net host, and if you enter the IP in the Spam >> database lookup and scroll the results page down you will see >> (highlighted in red) that the IP (or host) is blacklisted by SORBS. This >> this is the reason your email is being rejected. You should talk to >> Bellsouth. > > > > Per what I said above, what do you think they'll say? Or offer to do? Is > there nothing to be gained by contacting SORBS, et al? All you have to tell them is that some of your email is being rejected because one of their SMTP servers is blacklisted for SPAM, and to take a look at: http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=205.152.59.66 If they scroll down this page till they see the red highlighted line, they will see it is blacklisted by SORBS and, if they are a serious provider, they should contact SORBS to have that IP removed from the blacklist. If they don't know how, ask them to go to www.de.sorbs.net and just read the first line of the page which says: "If you need to ask for the removal of an IP address from any of the SORBS databases, please use the SORBS Support System." If they refuse to do anything about it, then they are not serious and perhaps you should look for another provider. > Again, thanks for the help! My pleasure :) -- Best regards, Miguel A.
