I'm also a long-time STC member, recently renewed after a long absence. Much of my tech writer bag of tricks has come from STC dinner meetings and annual seminars.
I'm also having a lot of trouble discovering where and when the "local" meetings are held. I'm a member of the Rochester and Buffalo chapters, physically located about midway between the two cities. A drive of almost 100 miles round trip makes attendance at evening meetings a big deal, especially when our winters lock down, but I'd like to be able at least to find out where and when they're being held so I can choose whether or not to make the attempt. The local chapter websites don't seem to be well-maintained and the local contacts have not returned my e-mails. Uh oh, I might have just talked myself into another volunteer job.
