Question to managers: would a writer's answer to this question
influence whether you hired them?

I ask this because it seems to me that corporations are always on the
lookout for good managers. One may conclude from this that, all other
things being equal, the writer who's looking to move up tends to be
*perceived* as more valuable than the one who doesn't.
