Of course. But what managers value (as manifested in their actions, if not their thoughts) can't be too out of line with the actual (vs. espoused) culture of a corporation. Otherwise, who'd want them around? Anyway, your point about the size of the team is interesting -- I'd have thought that in a smaller team, there'd be a greater need for someone who could step into a higher level of responsibility.
