Our documentation is considered support for our product, yet it can't go out without the documentation, so that would make it more than just incidental. :) As far as how the tech writing department is treated here...being that I am the tech writing department , I would have to say it depends on the day, and the developer. They are told that I am as important as any other member of the team, some buy it and some don't. I have come to know who I have to work harder with and who I can trust to keep me in the loop. I am pretty sure that my office is pretty much like every other small office, I like what I do and I like the people...Beats digging ditches as my Daddy used to say! :) Melissa
