Lisa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> asked, "Do you get to travel as a technical writer?
For what purposes do you travel? Do you wish you could travel more? Or less?"

 In my current position, I only travel occasionally. However, I recall being
offered a USAF contract position that was 90% travel! I was thrilled with the
idea of going all over the world, but worried about my two cats who'd be left
alone most of the time.

 Frankly, I prefer not to travel too often. Hotel beds make my back hurt;
rental cars all are different; accents, intonations, and word choice changes
from place to place (and they always think YOU sound funny!); and changing time
zones messes with my head.

 On average I travel once a year for business and once a year for pleasure.
That seems sufficient for me.
