I would agree as well, at least from the perspective of how you 
interact with the rest of the company as a manager.  But if the
company's upper management continues to be unconvinced, 
it will hardly be the end of the world for you, and the irony of
trying to sell them on an arrangement that might actually be less 
beneficial to you is considerable.
