Not surprising -- this ties into the general rudeness of society today.
When was the last time some of you actually got a rejection letter from
a company you interviewed with?  It seems that more often than not, we
have to call them only to have them tell us exactly what Lisa heard.

I can remember at college when friends papered entire walls of their
apartment with rejection letters.  These four guys had probably 200
letters between them, and used them as wallpaper. (We also called them
FOAD letters, which stood for "**** Off And Die".)  In the past ten
years, I might have gotten one or two, but I certainly went on many more
interviews than that.  Companies just don't care about responding to
someone they don't plan on hiring.  <shrug>  It's a waste of time and
money from their viewpoint.

That said, always remember to send YOUR follow-up thank you letter after
interviewing.  That puts your name back in front of them one more time.
