If I am not mistaken, you cannot participate in TRS unless you are in a position that requires a certificate. I think there may be an exception for substitute teachers since subs can get TRS credit and you do not need a teaching certificate (though you do need a sub card).
I also recall a rule that schools must offer IMRF to non-cert employees working over a certain number of hours/year. Are they at least giving you IMRF? Thomas C.
