What happened when he handled Wonder Woman's magical sword in Kingdom Come?
Now, juxtapose that casual contact with how much more powerful of an
artifact Mijolnir is. No, it doesn't nullify his powers, but he's not
catching it in his palm like it was a bank robber's bullet either. That
hammer would have done him some noticeable harm in the blow depicted, but
with poor writing (he's Superman! He can fight thru *anything*!) you can
depict whatever you want. I don't care for the superhero Calvinball
approach, though.
I'm just pointing out the inconsistency in their superhero mythos. Batman
isn't taking a villain like Bizzaro down without some creative plot
development and some bending of comic book logic, just as Daredevil isn't
going to be facing down Dr. Doom. You want a really unfair fight? How about
Supes facing Dr. Xavier? As far as I can tell Kal El has a normal human
intellect- his powers are physical only, and would fare about as well as
Juggernaut without his helmet.
