Here's something I wrote about 4 years ago on the subject. I think it still
holds up.

"While Thor is magical, I don't think he really needs to rely on that for
victory. If you think about it, Superman doesn't really ever fight anyone in
his weight class. He does every now and then, but those are the exceptions
to the rule; plus, his actual track record against those foes isn't very
good (Doomsday killed him, Lobo beat him up, etc.). The villains that
Superman fights are mostly normal humans - Lex Luthor, The Toyman, The
Ultra-Humanite, etc.

Thor, on the other hand, almost exclusively faces foes who are, at least, as
powerful as he or stronger, and, more often than not, he defeats them. I've
seen Thor fight multiple Storm Giants, Heralds of Galactus, Celestials,
living planets, gods, and even Galactus himself.

A normal day for Superman consists of writing articles for the Daily Planet,
saving kittens that are stuck up trees, helping old ladies cross the street,
and maybe stopping a normal criminal from trying to rob a bank. A normal day
for Thor consists of slaying dragons, fighting Storm Giants, traveling to
other dimensions, and stopping the destruction of planets by beings who eat
them for meals.

That, plus the fact that Thor had been beating faces for a couple millennia
before Pa Kent first took Kal-El to kindergarten, gives Thor a big edge in
my mind."

Superman can suck it!
