I am reading the Adventures of Augie March by Saul Bellow, and I just finished The Man Without Qualities by Robert Musil. The language in both is very beautiful, and I find the walls of the room melting away and vines creeping up to choke me and cloak me, to grip me and trip me, to find me and bind me. These books were heavy hardbacks that I didn't want to travel with, so I read Annie Proulx's Wyoming Stories on the plane. Heartbreaking! Ay yi yi! Alas for the souls of men!

I'm currently reading "Seeker" by Jack McDevitt. He's a a sci-fi author that was recommended by the Science Fiction Book Club, so I decided to give him a try. I'm really enjoying the book! The lead character is antiquities dealer/archeologist in the far future. Sort of like a sci-fi Indiana Jones (but for profit).
