By this I mean that you can tell he really likes Thrawn and Pellaeon and C'baoth and gives them a lot of attention. Like I said, only about 100 pages in but his creations are getting a lot more "screen time" than Luke, Leia, and Han.
There's nothing wrong with that. Just my initial impression.
