Shag, you are being called out!  Van and I never agree, but here we are united 
in thinking you ridiculous!  Defend thyself!  


Comics are a laboratory where stories can be refined, stretched, examined, 
over-cooked, savored....but the movies must be a tight, focused lightning bolt 
of story.  With comics, the stakes are low!  


We unmarried Spider-Man!  The nine people who read comics are mad!  We might 
lose sixteen dollars next month!
We put too many bad-guys in Spider-Man 3! The 40 MILLION people who saw it 
don't trust us to make Spider-Man 4 and we won't make THREE HUNDRED MILLION 
DOLLARS!


Stakes!
