I don't get the same memory problem when I run Chrome and do print previews. There may be something broken in your installation. You might try uninstalling and reinstalling.
If you do this then while you're at it you could switch to SRWare Iron (https://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php), which is a privacy-hardened Chrome. It does not auto-update, so that if you have it working it won't quietly break on you later.
