Basically its about managing complexity.

Why would you need to copy "back and
forth" Do you write more than one story at the same time? Then I can
imagine that it's difficult. Otherwise I think it's easy. At least with
TW5.

I've decided to leave TW5 alone for two reasons.
Well three.
* I don't like the UI for the these purposes.
* I don't think its stable yet
* I've just about got my mind around TWC - see the "bear of little
brain" comment. I don't need to start a new learning curve on top of
  everything else. KISS.

Yes, the story universe evolves in parallel. Plot threads run though various stories. This isn't a series of disconnected stories, as you implied, the character 'grow' and plot lines come to fruition.

anoter. Remember: The story wiki started out as a copy of the character
wiki. So when you now do a change in a character tiddler, drag that
tiddler, after the edit, to the character wiki. That's it.

Running Linux I have lots of windows/tabs open -ha ha ha!
But you seem to be describing something in TW5 here. Sorry, pass.

I've just read Eric's response and looked that the plugins he mentioned and they seem to be what I'm looking for.

I really don't like what you're proposing for simple aesthetics. I was always taught never to do 'stamp' style programming, and this copy back and forth rather than have one copy - 'by reference' - seems the kind of "stamp' thing. I can see the potential for mistakes and oversights.

This is a computer I'm using; I expect to be able to 'automate' things and avoid potential mistakes like that, and it seems Eric's solution does what I want and does it in what I consider an aesthetically pleasing manner. Its 'automatic', involves only one copy, and is 'transparent' in use.
