Ciao Mat That idea of leveraging off Google Groups via scraping posts is a neat one. But, I think it would be unworkable retrospectively without the scraper TAGGING them and doing that accurately for what sounds like swathes of history. It looks to me far too complex & time consuming.
A more modest proposal would be to do that CONTEMPORANEOUSLY, or near contemporaneously, knowing that re-presenting the GG threads in some kind of ordered way would build, over time, a very useful resource. That was a major theme that I & Riz reflected in our different ways too.
