We have a departmental policy of 'technology failures are not acceptable excuses'. We provide good computer support, and there should always be working equipment. If they have left it to the last minute to print out, then that's their problem, not ours. Deadlines are published well in advance. Afterall, if we said 'powerpoint isn't working today, so no lecture' they wouldn't stand for it!
