All good points. Especially since the online has such strong advantages but also disadvantages for some with special challenges. And yes, top 5 lists are wonderful fun. I'd chime in with more "advice" but the advice on list already is pretty close to my top five. One of the "Journal of Experimental Psychology", we put one copy of the Psi Chi journal in so it doesn't cost so long as we have a chapter, I'd go for one more experimentally oriented counseling as it is probably a good source of good and bad teaching examples, even though I'm neuroscience my MUST have journal would probably be JPSP- they do such good and interesting stuff for the students interests. And to be honest, we are doing quite well. We are part of consortiums who buy group access to certain packages, which keeps the costs down and gives us broad access. This being said, my are of specialty is counselling psych (I am the only psych instructor here. We are a very small College, with only 6-7 psych courses, first and second year level). But at the undergrad level, I was really pushed towards research, which I really appreciated. I find we should teach the research model first, and then move on to more clinical stuff. The reason why I insist on keeping a few "non-virtual" publications in-library is because I want students to be able to browse through them. There is so much virtual stuff, I think it is important to have access to concrete, hands-on materials. So I'm simply curious to hear about what others believe to be "priceless" publications. From there I'll decide if I should chage what we have or not... And, let's admit it: Top 5's are always a fun thing to do! Cheers all!
