I read something about the space allocation and I think that it had
something to with how much of the screen changes frame to frame, digital
media only stores the changed information from the last field so if you are
watching a show with not a lot of action and many scenes that are in the
same room for example verse something like a sports event that has lots of
movement, the show would take up much less space than the sporting event. I
do know that is a true statement about digital media and digital
information, however I am NOT sure if that means it correlates the size of
the TiVo file, I'm just saying that I read it in a forum...
My reasoning for questioning this logic is that many of my shows from
week to week are the same amount but then other shows or series are more or
less, and if the above were 100% true then would each individual show be
different...? just some thoughts but maybe it provides for discussion...

TTGO takes up a HUGE ammount of space so be prepared! I pulled off
Supernanny which was one hour and it was 1.6 gigs. I then compared it to
another random show, Wife Swap which was 1 hour 3 minutes at it was 2.7
gigs! I am wondering why the heck Tivo has such huge difference is space
allocation when all my shows are recorded using hte same level.

Waiting for my TTGO to save all the original Star Trek off to HD and watch
them in order. I KNOW there has to one or two I missed.
My 40 hour might run out of room soon though waiting for the update to
come this month.
Currently also waiting for the Battlestar Galatica mini-series to come
back on before I watch the new series.
Stargate is on the season pass as is Atlantis.
