Correct. Using various cahnnels is a mechanism they use to send us anything they want. A commercial is just one example. It is not just gudie info that comes down. Also there have used discovery to send some things down since Dec. 6th even though the SDD date doesn't reflect this. I got my information directly from Tivo. I'm not sure what the whole point if your msg is?? SDD can and does include things such as commercials and even code revs if they want to. Tivo could send TTG this way. And that is incorrect. Service Data Download is a very specific thing. The commercials, etc, are *not* Service Data Downloads. They also use a broadcast on Discovery, and some of the same mechanisms, but they are very different things to the TiVo. The unit also behaves differently at the time. During a promo download you can watch the broadcast, and you'll see all the video clips coming down one after the other. During an SDD the TiVo will not allow you to go to LiveTV, instead you get a screen telling you a download is taking place. If you tune one in without a TiVo you get a screen full of black and white bars shifting around - which is data encoded as a visual signal. Which is why you can receive promos, etc, but that doesn't change the date for the last SDD.
