When I selected the pre-recorded program from Now Playing, the first 20 minutes or so were a recording of a program that I did NOT select to record. Then after the 20 minutes, the movie I DID have set to tape started playing but did not record in it's entirety. All I could guess was that the Status Ba'ran out' before the movie was over. There was no 'blank' area. Just seems like the timing was off or that the Status Bar is not set at the far left when the program begins to record. Why would the signal be lost in the last few remaining minutes?
If the channel was'nt keeping to their published schedule, will the pre-recorded program be cut off that same amount of time that the other overlapping program took up? Also, sometimes a precorded program will end playing when the Status Bar is in the center. So when I record another program, that's where it begins, with the SB in the center. If something did interrupt the recording process and leaves the SB in the middle, how do you get the SB back to the start position for the next time? This doesn't really make sense. What do you mean the status bar is in the middle? The status bar reflects the recording. If there is any 'blank' area in the bar that means something happened in the recording, usually that the video signal was lost. The bar should always be as long as the recording was *supposed* to be - but if the green area doesn't fill the bar, then something was lost - could not be recorded. This can happen if the video signal drops out during the recording period. When you start playback of a recording, the 'current' time indicator should start at the beginning of the status bar. If you see some other content and not what you intended to record, then it just means the channel wasn't keeping to their published schedule. If you ever see the green bar doesn't fill the full status bar area (on a completed reocrding, it is normal to see it not filled it on one in progress) then something disrupted the recording process. The TiVo doesn't know if a program is over or not, just what the guide data says. If the guide data says the movie ends at 22:00, and the network runs it until 22:05 - the recording ends at 22:00 and you lose 5 minutes. There isn't a way for the TiVo to know the network lied in their published guide data. -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.TiVoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
