The Charter people have been back at least twice since I wrote last, a
Contractor and a Technician. When they leave, the channels
are there, but go out again in a short time later. But this last time, the
channels are showing most of the time. He wouldn't
replace the CableCards but said that the codes didn't line up and that was the
trouble and fixed it.At least, the channels are there
MOST of the time, but not always, as should be.

The problem I'm having now is that when I set up a program to record, and am
watching another channel when the time comes for this
recording to begin, I see the red light go on the TiVo, that it has started
taping, but when I go to check it, there is only a gray
screen there. And then, what always happens after that is, the same channels
that never came in before the Charter guy 'fixed' it,
are out again. But what I have found is that when I push the button that says,
'Live Tv'. sometimes the channels will come in
again, if that's a clue to anything.

So not even one channel records, let alone two at the same time, one of the
main reasons I upgraded to the Series3. The only time a
taping 'takes' is in the middle of the night when no other tv is being watched,
and only IF the channel is THERE.

I'm really running out of ideas and patience with calling Charter to fix this.
They seem to , and admit, that they don't know
anything about the TiVo. One of the Technicians said it was the first time he
had ever seen the Series3, the Contractor that
installed the Cards said it was his first time doing that. But that is supposed
to be corrected as of the last visit yesterday. But
I don't know what's behind the channels not recording. I am signed up for
everything they have, and I have them checked off on the
Channel List, so I don't know why they're not there so much of the time, and
don't record.

Does anyone have any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks,
Sand
