Once upon a time Ron Koms shaped the electrons to say... > A feature that seems to be missing on my S3. > The ability to change record speed (quality) when getting ready to record > something, in SD... > > I know HD is always the best quality and you have no choices, but there are > those choices with SD in setup.
It isn't SD vs. HD, it is analog vs. digital. There are digital SD channels as well as digital HD channels (which are all digital). You cannot set the recording quality on any digital channels, because they're recorded 'as-is', not locally encoded. Generally any channels 100 and up are digital, SD or HD. And some cable systems use ADS - Analog-Digital Simulcast - so even low number channels, which are normally analog, may be mapped to a digital version on cable STBs and devices using CableCARD. So if you don't have the option to select the recording quality, you're getting the channel digitally. -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.GizmoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
