Hope all is well!
I have been compelled reading all these mails
about the state of the charts nowadays etc... i just had to write and say
something, but i fear once again all my views have been said, by all you
like minded people.... so i'm afraid i will just be repeating others, but
i have to say something.
I have loved Madness and Ska all my life, and
i have been brought up around many sheep, following what's supposedly 'fashionable'
to be honest i feel for these people, i have talked to them about what
they like and why they like it and well basically they all agree with each
other, one person speaks and the others stand and nod, they don't seem
to have their own opinion about anything.
I'm sorry to bring up my age but hey... i'm
almost 16 now and throughout my life at school i have been ridiculed and
called a freak by everyone and that includes my so called 'group of friends'
they can't understand why a group of middle aged men rule my life, i try
to explain but they won't listen.. i've given up now, let them get on with
their own monotonous lives... i have always refused to live a boring life,
and i believe so far i haven't, and if i'm considered a freak then, hey,
i'm proud to be a freak!! like i've always said individuality is the key
to life, what a boring world this would be without broad minded people!
Simesy i also have to disagree with one point
of your mail.... i believe that they are absolutely gorgeous.. no one better
looking than these seven guys, in my eyes anyhoo! and i'm sure many others
feel the same way, much much better looking than anyone in the charts
now (but i like the point about Mr. Barzo though!!.. :o).. yum! hehe)
As said before the charts have been taken over
by non talented teeny boppers, i read in an interview the other day that
'Staircase' were actually proud of their new album because they'd written
almost half of it.. i couldn't help but laugh when i read that, it's a
real p**s take on all the hard work Madness did to bring out so many top
quality songs and albums in such a short period of time!! they worked so
hard and even when they were under that much pressure never failed to please
their huge fan base with excellent songs and music, all written by them...
it's a sad time for 'pop' music i feel, and as others have said; i wish
i was born ten years ago that way i could've been around when all the fab
music was around, all the music i live my life for, instead of all this
crap now. (no offense to anyone)
I found this list just over a year ago now and
since then my life has become so much better, finally i don't feel so alone
and isolated, it's great to be able to chat and meet like minded people!!
It's been said so many times before, but Madness have
*THE* friendliest fan base i've ever known, everyone looks out for one
another, plus there aren't many fan bases this big not for a band that
formed in the 70s anyway and it's still growing.... it's been said many
a time- the guys in the band are the most down to earth friendly guys you
could ever hope to meet, and this reflects on the fans......
